week two

Focusing on my First Design Challenge ( An in-game painting tool where the player can pick up a brush and paint onto a canvas )

This week I will be focusing on planning and starting my first DC, I wrote some ideas of how I was going to going through with this idea last week so I will continue researching how to get the outcome I want.

The first idea that I had noted down is having a table that has a paint palette with different colours on it, my plan for this is to make an interactive table that allows the user to select which colour they want to paint with with a single press of a trigger button. To do this, I need to make a few assets on my project.

I'm looking into modelling mode for UE5 so I can make the assets needed for my project, this is something I want to look into as I also want to model some things for the background of this project to add to its ambiance.

IDEAS :

  • Theme - Cosy, art studio with a soft colour scheme
  • Collaborating multiple DCs into one ( Interactive door system + ladder mech within the art studio project ^^ )
  • Sitting ? Standing ? Maybe I could add an option allowing the user to sit and paint

WHAT TO DO FOR NEXT SESSION :

  • Work out the mechanic for selecting a colour to paint with using the back trigger
  • Start modelling and designing what the play space is going to look like
  • Start thinking / planning how I'm going to solve the other DCs
