week six


Planning (Important Updates and Info)

Due to changes within the assignments requirements, instead of having to complete five design requirements I will have to complete only three meaning I'll need to cut out two. 

After considering which DCs I want to continue with, I have decided to choose the following:

  • An interactive and animated button and lever interaction system 
  • An in-game painting tool where the player can pick up a brush and paint onto a canvas 
  • An interactive radial menu as an in-game smartwatch, attached to the player’s wrist 
  • A remote-control/drone mechanic 
  • A small domestic room in which some of the furniture can be re-textured in game 
  • An interactive door system 
  • A main menu system using only 3D, diegetic/in-world components 
  • A ladder mechanic where the player can use their hands to physically climb

I have chosen to work on these as they will be easy to put into one project and it is something that is slightly challenging to me and is achievable.

What I have Accomplished 

This week I focused on creating actors within the project, I created the table and the canvas however they are not yet interactive but I have plans to make them so next week. I also did some research into exactly how I'm planning on coding user interactions within my project.

IDEAS :

  • The interactive button and lever result in restarting the user's painting 

EXTRA :

  • Save - This allows the user to save their work
